It seems that PVR extension is in an early draft stage at the moment. IMO it should specify at least:
- how to perform play back, trick modes and time-shifting; what data is expected by CAM, especially during trick-modes (TS packets in reverse order when rewinding?) and what are the responsibilities of host and CAM in terms of decryption keys management that may be out of order or skipped by trick modes
- how to cope with simultaneous watching and recording on a typical twin tuner host using single CAM, especially in the situation when watched programme is on one multiplex while recorded programme is on the other.
- how to verify entitlements, PIN-s and so on when user schedules the recording.
Are there any improvements planned in this area? If so, when are they planned to happen and how to get involved?
